Contiki Travel's Part 3: Amsterdam->St Goar

After a morning spent wondering the charming cobblestone streets, we departed en route to St Goar Germany, where we were welcomed with the most beautiful sunset I've ever seen!

Here are somethings you may want to know about St Goar:

-it's located on the Rhine River

-it's in a valley, so it's surrounded by mountains, and perched on top of those mountains stand glorious castles

-the streets are quite quaint and there wasn't too much going on, but all in all it would be a beautiful place to visit and relax in when you've retired

That night we gathered in the hotel for a classic German meal, with all the fixings!

And after we headed off, intertwining our way through the dark side streets where we were faced by these set of doors, awaiting our arrival.
 As we walked down the stone steps and turned the corner, there in front of us was a long wooden table, the walls were lined with barrels of wine, and the only light was shed by the flickering candles placed in the centre of the table. As we sat down we were all giving a small glass and from there the wine tasting began.
We tried four wines, which were all accompanied by their own story. Each wine became sweeter, as did our mood.

After the wine tasting, some headed back to the pub in the hotel, and I with a few of my new friends decided to sit by the Rhine and ended up having a great 2 hour chat.

The next morning, we planned to get up early so we could head to our next destination, but not without visiting the Coo-coo clock shop, which has the worlds largest, hand-carved, free-handing coo-coo clock, as well as a quick demonstration on how beer steins are manufactured.
Worlds largest hand-made beer stein

Then we were off, to a city filled with the most festive of Christmas markets, and the most overrated tourist attraction in Europe (according to our tour guide). (Part 4 coming soon)
