As soon as the weather starts to shimmy down the temperature, from a simmering high to a shivering low, I for one, tend to gravitate to my coziest sweaters. I live in that sweater for the next 6 months, as it's sweet stitches secure me in an oversized hug.
But as the frigid temperatures begin to dissipate into a balmy breeze, I'm left in a place of the unknown, like I'm in a confusing love triangle, unwilling to fully commit to my fresh spring wardrobe, unsure if it will protect me against the wavering temperatures like I know my trusty sweater will; yet knowing that I'm beyond over winter and need a change.
This is the transition period, where we merge our two wardrobes together, my trusty winter knit, with my new spring pieces, to meet at a happy median; all while looking incredibly chic.

Take this aztec, fuzzy sweater, perfectly paired with a knit skirt and a fab fedora for fall; and leather look leggings and booties for winter.
To make this look work I balanced out the heaviness of the sweater with a great pair of light pants, with great movement and in a fresh colour. I matched all of the casual pieces with more dressy pieces; the heels with the sweater, the coat with the pants.
Thankfully your favourite winter sweater will stick around a little bit longer.
