If you missed part 1 of this mini series I posted earlier, Best For Your Body Part 1: Textures, Prints and Silhouettes feel free to give it a read. In part 2 I am going to show you how certain items can work with your body shape to look its best. Disclaimer: All body shapes are different for a reason, it wouldn't be fun or interesting if everyone was the same, and since not every style looks good on everyone this can be used as a guide to find what works best on you!
3.1 Phillip Lim Pom Pom Tee |
H- curved hems; the curved line softens and feminizes a look. An easy way to incorporate this into your look is simply by wearing a long lightweight top with a rounded hem, pair it with a long necklace, tights, a jacket or blazer and booties and you are set!
Leather Bow Skinny Belt, Pink- Kate Spade New York |
8- skinny belt; whether the belt is leather, braided, or jewelled, when worn around your waist it will bring attention to the smallest part of your figure, layer it over a dress, skirt or tunic for a great look.
River Island Pale Blue Gem Stone Statement Necklace |
A- statement necklace or collars; these accessories with draw the attention up towards the face and the added detail will balance the weight on the lower part of the body. To allow the necklace to stay the focal point keep your top and the rest of your wardrobe simple and monochrome.
Saint Laurent Baby Cat Narrow Scarf |
V- a long scarf of necklace; when theses are worn draped from the neck it leads the eye up and down reducing the bust size and making you look taller and slimmer in the upper body. To avoid adding to much weigh to the upper body refrain from using a bulky scarf.
Love Wrap Dress from Asos.com |
()- a wrap dress; the diagonal line created by the overlapping fabric will lead the eye from the waist to the chest and neck area, drawing the attention away from the midsection. To bring added excitement, wear a statement necklace. Remember that if you are petite to stick to smaller prints in the wrap dress so they don't overwhelm you.
The final part of this mini series will be uploaded at the end of this week and it will talk about how to find the right colours for your complexion, which can take an item of clothing from looking ordinary, to extraordinary. Make the best out of the rest of your day!
