Lets start in gorgeous Melbourne, Australia.
Melbourne style is a great mix structured co-ords, lightweight dresses that blow in the wind mimicking the waves in the sea, as well as, the amazing use of unexpected fabrics and ways to cut the garments. The bright colours are complimentary to the locals bubbly personalities, and a duster coat seems to always be along for the journey.
Some incredibly, talented designers are emerging from this city, take Limedrop; this womenswear brand, offers the classic pieces that every girl wants, but with their own fun twist, their goal is to, "empower customers to feel confident and chic."
Other great designers that can be found in Melbourne include, Tettemann.Doust, who are the definition of luxury, cutting edge womenswear; Nixi Killick, who's designs are like walking pieces of art; and Asilio, who share a structured, femininity in all of their high fashion pieces.
To see these how these designers, and how Melbourne fashion in general is styled, check out some of the local bloggers. Two of my favourites are, friendinfashion.com.au and howtwolive.com, they are both fashion bloggers who post their incredible style for the world to lust over. Get ready to be inspired.
Moving over to the charming city of Copenhagen, Denmark.
The casually, cool streets of Copenhagen are filled with a collection of sporty chic, and european-bohemian style. Loose fitting trousers, in organic colours and textures, or skirts sitting nicely on the waist, are often seen peddling past, on a basket, embellished bike.
Munthe Plus Simonsen are two designers who's brand frames what the style of Copenhagen is perfectly. It's fusion of urban and bohemian pieces, paired nicely with the other edgy and luxe items they sell. Malene Birger was crowned, "Queen of Copenhagen Fashion", by MTV and is very respected in the fashion industry. In her collections one may notice looks that are inspired by fashion from the 50s, and 60s, her pieces are easy to wear, and very feminine.
To capture the charmingly, chic style of those who wander the streets of Copenhagen check out copenhagenish.me, who blogs about her love and support for Scandinavian fashion. Another really, really great blog is copenhagencyclechic.com, it shows the style of people biking through the gorgeous city, this blog has been such as success that other cities around the world have joined in; definitely go and see if you're city is apart of this creative concept. Scandinavia Standard wrote a great post about their top 6 fashion bloggers from Copenhagen, so you can check that out here.
And we're off to Moscow, Russia
Who would have thought that dressing warm, could look so cool. Clearly, Moscow knows how to make the most of the weather, although it's not always cold in this city, no matter what the temperature, their fashion is always red-hot. Bold reds, ruffles, black bottoms and a good pair of tights are all common staples on the streets of Moscow. The style has a feminine feel, with an air of sophistication. Occasionally, a daring pattern is seen making a statement in an eye-catching extravaganza, or a pair of skyscaper, stilettos will strut past in the street.
Moscow is a city that many believe should be the fifth, must-see fashion show during their fashion week. Ruban, is a sister, design-duo, who create beautiful feminine pieces that can still be considered everyday, wearable clothing, but is still in the high fashion realm, since they show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia.
Another great Russian designer is Poustovit, she has a brilliant way of creating pieces that incorporate pure lines, with simple form, using natural fabrics and a compilation of colours. The designer values intelligence and tradition, making her brand a great representation of the strong, Russian woman.
As for blogs, the russianfashionblog.com is a great place to find any and all information on Russian designers, style and fashion news. Maybe after you learn a bit more about Russian designers you'll be booking your flight to MBFW Russia.
That's all for now, hopefully you feel that this was a worthwhile trip visiting some stylish cities, and perhaps your suitcase is even crammed full of fashion inspiration from around the world! Until next time...
