What to Wear Where ft Wimbledon

Nothing like a posh day spent court side watching tennis.

Wimbledon is an annual tennis championship in London, England, that is played on a grass court.

Here are some inspired looks, that I could see being sported at this event!

Look #1

Necessary ClothingTop [X]
Skirt [X]
This co-ord is stunning and screams summer. The small waist and large skirt is the perfect representation of Christian Dior's New Look, which gives the outfit it's classic overall appeal. Pair it will a large brim straw hat, nude heels (as shown) and a clutch or tote and you're ready!

Look #2

Topshop Boutique
Culotte Shorts [X]

Topshop Boutique
Crop Top [X]
The mix of florals is a chic way to dress for the sun. The culotte style is a big trend at the minute, so what better setting to show you're stylish skills, then at a world renowned championship. The prints work well, because they are of a similar size and share a common theme. Style with a great pair of sunnies, a nice pair of heeled gladiator sandals and you're set!

Look #3

Wimbledon Outfit

The pastel hues are on trend for this season. The powder blue jumpsuit will look amazing when paired with the baby pink. The floral headpiece and ombre sunglasses take the outfit from casual, to Wimbledon's best dressed.

OOTD

Hopefully, for most, school is finished for the summer, and the fun in the sun can begin.

For me this consists of spending my days reading Vogue, perusing online for my summer wardrobe, planning for my fall wardrobe and taking day trips to cute places to explore and indulge in delicious food.

Today I've decided to keep it pretty casual, chill out, bake a bumble berry pie and then head to the mall to pick up some bit and pieces.
This is my beauty of a pie, which literally just came out of the oven.
I wish there was  a way for you to smell it's mouthwatering sweetness!

I hope that your summer is off to a splendid start, and here is the outfit I chose to wear today!
Top Zara
Skirt Zara
Watch Michael Kors

I love that the tee has a low back, such a fun detail!

Hope you like it! I wish I could invite you all over for a slice of freshly, baked, bumble berry  pie with vanilla ice cream!

Plenty of Pineapples

Fashion is a lot like pineapple, on the outside it can look like a hurtful, spiky, unpleasant thing; but when you get into it, you realize that its filled with sweet people and juicy secrets.

Yes I did just relate this tropical fruit to fashion...

But it seems as though fashion holds fruit close to its heart, it's the apple of it's eye. Does anyone remember Bay Garnett's first Vogue shoot, starring my absolute fave, Kate Moss? She was pictured wearing a Banana top (below), that top belonged to Garnett, which she thrifted for under $10!!

Phoebe Philo remarked on how much she loved the top and asked if she could borrow it, the outcome...

Chloe Spring/Summer 2004 RTW,bananas made a starring role in her collection! I love that story.

But back to pineapples, I don't know if you've noticed, but the print is showing up everywhere!

I don't know if there's a cool story behind it or not, but I feel like its too sweet of a trend not to try!

You Wore It Better ft Caroline Flack

There's just something about British television that I find so addicting. It could be their sense of humour, their accents, the shows concepts, or the people on the shows. Caroline Flack is a presenter for British TV, best known for her job as Xtra Factor's co-host, and is now the host of the new British TV show Viral Tap.

Caroline has such a chic approach to style, she is best know for showing off her legs, in shorts and has never really gone wrong on any of her outfits. Here is the look that I will be recreating for you to make your own and then wear better!

Who's Got Your Back?!

When I was in public school I dreaded having to lug my backpack to and from school everyday, yes even at a young age I was conscience of fashion, and my backpack rarely, if ever, coordinated with my outfits.

But now, backpacks have made a comeback, sporting new, more luxurious fabrics and styles, it's a no-brainer that I need one of these convenient, carry-alls back in my life.

Not sure who to trust to have your back these upcoming seasons look no further then:
3.1 Phillip Lim

Alexander Wang

Mansur Gavriel

Rebecca Minkoff

On a budget? Why not try:

To style them, pair with a dress and heeled sandals; jeans, a plain tee and a solid colour blazer with flats or runners; or with a printed jumpsuit or playsuit.

Luckily this is a trend has reoccured, letting us fashionista, not having to worry about it clashing with our chic outfits!

What To Where Where: A Day Spent Seaside

I was on planning to go spend my day walking along the beachfront stores, when I realized I was running late and quickly threw together this look and ran out the door.

When I got settled and took in what I had actually put on, it couldn't have worked out better.
Top DKNY
Blazer Club Monaco
Shorts Topshop
Heels Nine West
Watch Michael Kors

If the combination of nautical, navy and white stripes, accented with the red didn't scream seaside, I don't know what would. Heels may not be everyones first choice for walking around, so any flat or sandal would work, just try to incorporate the red somewhere, whether it's a bold lip, or cute clutch. The blazer was a nice added touch to take the edge off the cool breeze, but elevate the outfit at the same time. (Blazers are a magical thing, they can take any outfit up a notch, everyone needs at least one in their wardrobe!)

Hopefully next time I visit the water, it will be warm enough to swim in! Have a great rest of your week!

What I Wore Last Week(end)

I don't want to be one of those people that when they have nothing to say, resorts to talking about the weather; but seriously this weekend was amazing. It was the perfect temperature, a comfortable warm, where you could eat some gelato or sip and ice tea and not get freezing, yet the cool breeze, that blows you hair and maxi dress is a sexy, supermodel way was not over powering, just there to take the edge off the heat.

I took advantage of this beautiful weather and made the most of my weekend.

One Friday, I went to a really great italian restaurant and indulged in a deliciously, cheesy panzeroti, I made a smart choice wearing the pants with a forgiving waistband.

Saturday
Maxi Dress Victoria Secret
Sandels Nine West
Sunnies Topshop
Saturday was a beaut day, I took a drive over to Stratford (yes the hometown of Justin Bieber), it's also home to the cutest ducklings, ducks and swans *awwwww*

Stratford is a charming town, and this time of year it is quite touristy, because of the festival, which is when the plays are shown, a lot of which are Shakespearean. I didn't get to see a play, but instead a walked the charming streets that are lined with eclectic shops and savoury bistros. The weather was so perfect for sitting al fresco.

A plate of deliciousness aka smoked tomato and bean soup, homemade bread, and a greek salad.
I then of course had to finish the great mean with a sweet treat!
Gelato while walking along the river
It was great, the wind was blowing my hair and dress like I was a model on a photo shoot, so I walked that path like NYFW, as you do under those conditions.

Sunday
Top Wilfred
Shorts Nasty Gal
Sandels AE
Sunday called for a chilled out day, and a flowy top and braided hair style were the perfect companions. This months style goal is actually about braids, so if you're interested in getting some inspiration for braided hairstyles for all lengths check it out here. Otherwise, I hope you like this post and I hope you had a great weekend as well!

What to Wear Where: Business Breakfast

This Friday, I was lucky enough to get to see Arlene Dickinson speak for Entrepreneur Week in Ontario. For those of you who are unaware of who this amazing, strong, successful women is, she is CEO of Venture Communications, but is best known for her compassionate presence on CBCs Dragons Den. She is just...great, I am a huge fan of Dragons Den and had a lot of respect for her prier to hearing her speak, but after, wow she is such an inspiration and is so so kind.

Seeing as this was a Business Breakfast, where many entrepreneur's would gather to gain tips on how to make it, the dress code was formal. I decided to go with the classic black and white, pairing my black leather skirt, with a white dress shirt, a nude pair of heels and I was set. Here's my completed look!

Fashion Capitals Part 2: New York City

Cracked concrete represents the wrinkles on the face of New York, they show all the city has endured  over the years. The skyscrapers loom over the city, like trees in the rainforest, for this is why they call it the "concrete jungle". Central Park's zen and greenery stands out, in the hustle and bustle of the yellow flooded streets, like someone wearing a red coat in the sea of black suits that walk on their way to Wall Street. Venders stand on every street corner offering the best deals of the day on classic New York souvenirs. The streets are filled with a symphony of honking horns, screeching breaks and screaming sirens, being played on repeat. The city is notorious for it's attitude, but after visiting this vibrant place, you'll never want to leave.

The people: Beauty shows on the outside, for the New York girl. Lipstick, brazilian wax, blowouts, an amazing manicure and they're set for their 19 hour day. New York really holds true to the name of being "the city that never sleeps". The New York girl is a superwomen, somehow squeezing in a full time job, a Soul Cycle class here, a Berry's Boot Camp there, and finishing off the night sipping a glamorous, sugary cocktail at a nightclub, or on a late night date. Spending the summer weekends, and the weekends leading up to summer, in the sunny Hampton's, enjoying a break from the congested city, to relax on a serene beach.

Eat: Eat out, or take out. New York apartments aren't commonly known for their large kitchens, but thankfully the Big Apple is home to some ultimately, amazing food, so let your inner foodie rejoice. For breakfast Norma's is the place to be, it's located inside Le Parker Meridien hotel and serves breakfast and lunch until 3pm. The portions are massive, but every bite is guaranteed a mouthful of pure bliss. The crunchy french toast covered with caramel sauce, will leave you dreaming about it for months afterwards. Also, every guest is presented with a complimentary smoothie shot and an impeccable glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. For lunch, you could stop into Carnegie Deli where you'll be served the largest pastrami sandwich you'll every lay your hands on, but if thats not your style, New York is filled with amazing pizzerias sure to suit your fancy. Then there's Jack's Wife Freda, a great spot where you'll find many of fashions, finest faces dining al fresco. The food is not only delicious, but it will surely be deserving of an instagram,  plus they have a great instagram account themselves, definitely follow worthy. For any meal of the day-breakfast, lunch or dinner- Balthazar in SoHo is an absolute must, if the Beckham's choose to eat there after each one of Victoria's fashion shows, you know it's good. Walking in is like entering a classic Parisian bistro, waitstaff are dressed proper in black and white and the ivory clothed tables are everything you'd dream of seeing in Paris. So save your kitchen for shoe storage, and just eat out,  that's what ovens are for, right?

Style: New York is street style central at all times of the year, New Yorkers find a way to look fashionable even in the blistering, blizzards that winter willingly welcomes. Most of their wardrobes consist of black items, and honestly you can't go wrong with black, it's slimming, sophisticated, sexy, edgy, goes with everything and looks ultra sleek.

Visit: If art is your forte, then welcome to New York, the city is filled to the brim with art museums and galleries. Central park is a must for anyone who loves movies, because just about every rom-com has a scene that used this beautiful setting as a backdrop. There are also options for bus tours, that take you to all of the boroughs, it's the perfect way to get a feel for which part of the city you love most. Whatever you do, don't leave New York without seeing a musical, whether it's on Broadway, or off-off Broadway, this is a definite must you have to experience at least once. If heights aren't exactly your thing, going to the top of the Rockefeller or Empire State Building might not appeal to you, but the views are incredible, both during the day and at night, and it's the best way to "see" New York.

Shop: Two words, sample sale, yes these are magical words to the ears of any shopaholic, whether you line up 4 hours before it starts, or you stumble upon one whilst walking down the street, these sales are amazing! Soho has a great selection of well know shops and unique boutiques, while 5th Avenue is your go-to for all things high-end designer, but if you fall somewhere in the middle your friends, the 5 famous department stores, have got your back, like all good friends would. You remember, Saks, Bloomies, Barney's, Bergdorf and Macy's, ya they wish you well and happy shopping.

I'll meet you in Washington Square Park at noon...
